Terrible call on the replay. But I think most knew when it went to replay what the call would be. No way they were not giving Michigan another shot at it to avoid that upset. lol.

Laughable really.

To a degree (no pun intended). They decided yesterday in the South Carolina-Kent State game to shorten the fourth quarter to 10 minutes from the usual 15 due to the extreme heat in Columbia. I think safety in all forms is just a bigger priority now than it was back in the day. High schools here in SC have mandatory water timeouts now in certain temperatures.

I don't have a dog in the fight on the Michigan game, but no one will convince me the replay call wasn't a bad call. I think the video feed of the clock on the video replay system was delayed/out of sync. Typically the TV networks either pick up the time from a camera pointed directly at the scoreboard, or from a digital link to the timing system itself. My money is on NBC's clock being correct.
The Clock was correct, one of the Official Judge (the guy they talk to so the audience has an idea whats going on, (not on the field) said that the clocks are all SYNCED an hour or so before Game Time. Always.

I can't believe the temps in SC are any worse than say, Texas or Florida or any Other Warm weather state ... Sounds like an SEC thing, they don't like the Cold either.

I'm sure they were reminded to Hydrate Plenty ... thats something that should happen in All games regardless of temp.

The excuse was laughable too, the ball was 10 feet in the Air when the clock went to Zero, they claimed that someone out of bounds touched the ball before the clock ran out .... Video says otherwise.

Michigan is either 0-1 or 1-0 * ...

any of these states can be hotter than another on any given day. I think heat index was around 120 on the field at the bama game.

When has a SEC team ever complained about playing in the cold?

I know that's one you like to use as if the big 10 plays in sub zero temps year round. lol.

I'm sure they are. These days there is more emphasis on it. You literally have news stories every year of a player at some level going out because of the heat, sometimes even death. We had one here locally last week (or the week before).

Whens the last time a Major sec team left thier Home state ?

Actually, I use to mention the Low Temps, not so much any more seeing the Playoffs are Fair now where you have to possibly leave your Home warm city to play a game to move on.

Previously, its pretty lame to have to go down south and play on YOUR home field or Close .... now its decided by the playoffs.
Playoffs can still be rigged to a degree, but the games being played on Campus is a Great thing.

Ask Tennessee what they think of the Cold weather ... and they are in it to a degree.

NBC said on air afterwards they checked their equipment and it was in sync with the game clock.

Texas came to your home stadium last year… Alabama went to Wisconsin in 24. Sec teams leave their home state all the time. I don't think that question came out like you intended.

I am sure there are others. That's just what I remember off the top of my head in a second. (I know we did a home and home with Penn state too)

We have OSU next year I think. Although those are early season. It's just how scheduling works with conference schedules being what they are.

They do the bowls in places with better winter weather for attendance.

Not because any geographical team cant handle playing in another place.

Typically speaking, OSU doesn't play the majority of the season in any realistically colder weather than Florida.

I do like the on campus aspect.

Ask Tennessee what they think of the Cold weather ... and they are in it to a degree.
What would they say?

They are absolutely not in it.

To another point, most of these kids at most of these schools come from all over. Osu players aren't all from Ohio. Alabama players are by and large not from bama.

To think that the weather is worse in one team (or conference rather) than another team is laughable imo. Half the team may be from other places.

It may be inconvenient for the fans to have bowl games in the past played in more favorable weather. It definitely wasn't for the players.

That's an excuse for performance that doesn't really hold water.

What video are people watching showing the ball 10 feet in the air and not yet touched by the defender who jumped from out of bounds? Seemed pretty clear once that angle / sync was shown. Guessing it's the (irrelevant to replay) wide broadcast angle?

All clocks in the stadium were supposedly synchronized yet the replay cock is the only one showing 1 second left when the ball touches a player, which doesn't jive with the live tv video showing the stadium clocks at zero before the ball is even close to being touched.

What were you guys watching?

OBVIOUSLY there was a second left. Almost two.

The officials gave them only one to not seem biased.

Michigan dominated that game. Like they dominated app state back in the day.

Live with it.

They never have a Major Bowl in the North .... they should ... theres nothing wrong with Indianapolis Lucas Stadium.
There are others ...
There is a HUGE advantage when you play at home or in your home area ...

Tennessee Vol players and team and Fans were up in arms after playing in Columbus in the playoffs ... it was Cold ... temp was 25 at the Start and a Feels like was 14* ... Thats COLD.

Lets make the playoffs larger so we can have games in Feb, so it's Under 0* ... if they go much longer, they will run into that.

From an Un Biased view ...

Michigan's D played good enough
Western Defense played Great
Michigan's Offense was avg
Westerns Offense played avg

Michigans O line should have dominated this game, particularly in the 2nd half.
Michigan's Offense had 59 yards from thier backs ... for a M team, thats poor.

Michigan's qb is very avg, if nor for his running skills, he probably would not be starting.

Michigan was Very LUCKY to get the Win ...

Michigan is now 1-0 *
or 0-1

Maybe there should be one there. Idk.

But domed stadiums in the south. There really isn't a comparison. Atlanta. New Orleans. Dallas.

Plus the weather outside is better that time of year. Generally. Is it not?

It's in a dome. The weather isn't an advantage. Playing in Dallas isn't a huge advantage to a team from Alabama as going to Indianapolis.

It's cold. Sure. I don't remember anyone complaining about it as being a game deciding factor.

You say that like it's ever been a deciding factor in a game in the regular season.

When is the last time any team has played in that on the regular? Or even often.

Or ever for that matter.

They could move them all to Antarctica.

It would be about the same argument.

You don't remember much from the Tennessee game then ...

Thats all you heard after the game ...

Well, your Never gonna hear a player or Coach say that.

How about the way they played .
Its Tennessee.

They suck.

Y'all were better.

You don't need a reason for it other than that.

Roll tide.

Ok. No player used it as an excuse at all. So it wasn't one. As you and I knew.
