211K Receiver will not work with hybrid antennas

After agreeing to an upgrade to a Hopper 3 DVR, and promised the new antenna would indeed work with the Hopper 3 and the 211K.
The technician coming today told me that no, the 211K receiver will not work with the Hybrid antenna that he is putting up for the Hopper 3. He stated I could leave the Dish 500 antenna in place and he would just put the Hybrid on a new mount -

Don't know if that is going to happen. Since I move the 211K to the motorhome when needed, I guess I can have the 211K sit unused in the house and continue to pay for it and still use it in the Motorhome -

211 is not designed to work with the Hybrid, but the Dish 500 solution will work to allow use of the 211K.

You can have up to 2 purchased 211's or Wally's on a Hopper account, leased ones are not allowed. Because the 211 is purchased you can have it turned on only when you're using it at camp.

If you have a Hopper 3 connected to a Hybrid LNB then no other receivers can be connected to that LNB. You could get a DPP LNB and a DPH42 switch which would support the Hopper 3 and a Wally.

OK, Technician scheduled here within two hours - So instead of the Hybrid LNB, the Tech would install the DPP LNB and a DPH42 switch, and I could then replace the 211K with a Wally. The Wally should then work with the Winegard Travl'r on the Motorhome. - Have I got that correct??

I can confirm all that except the Winegard compatibility. I'm not sure about that so either Google it or maybe one of our resident RV experts here will see this and chime in.

Use existing antenna dpp 44 and DPH42 - you can reuse your exiting 211

I am wondering why, if you went the DPH42 route, you can't simply put a direct coax on port 2 of the dish and go directly to a 211, bypassing the hub entirely. It seems like that worked just fine with Hopper 2000 and Hopper 2.

It should work fine but I've never tried it so I can't confirm.

Well, The Tech did not have a DPH42 switch. He had the DPP LNB. I told him that I would probably change to the DPP and DPH42 at a later date. Now to get the recordings from the 722 onto the Hopper 3.

You only need the channel stack splitter if you want more than 1 Wally.

If you have a western arc 1000.2 dish with a DPP LNB then 3 wires got from the dish to the DPH42. One of the outputs on the DPH42 goes to the Hopper 3 hub and the other can be used for the Wally. You also have to have the power inserter in line to provide power to the switch.

This is how a DPH 42 Switch works. I know the image show 3 single LNB's, but it's the same for a DPP 1000.2 or DPP 1000.4 Western Arc with 3 cables from LNB to Switch or a DPP 1000.2 Eastern Arc with 2 cables to the switch, 3 cables to the switch for a DPP 1000.4 Eastern Arc. 1 cable for each Satellite that the LNB is hitting. The only receivers that can run off of the 42 Switch are Hoppers or Wallys in commercial applications.

Now, you COULD run those cables from the LNB to a DPP 44 Switch before the 42 Switch and run your VIP's or non Hopper Family Receivers off the 44 Switch and your Hoppers off the 42 Switch. However, Dish Network won't authorize that installation, sadly, but it COULD be done this way

I agree with everything except that Wally's will work on the DPH42 whether it's a commercial install or not. It's just that DISH only authorizes it in commercial installs.
