Help with 211z problem,

My friends 211z with tailgater worked fine at home and out of state.
When he removed the 211z from the RV and returned it to service in his house, it no longer would receive programing ! This is after he ran a check switch multiple times. Moved the receiver to a different location and swapped HDMI cables. After calling DISH and having them HIT the receiver. His programing returned.

Has anyone else experienced this ?

Is this a know problem ?

Any ideas on how to avoid this problem again ?

Thanks in advance

If the 211 sat in the RV for a few weeks without being used the receiver times out and needs to be reauthorized. It is not a problem and it is not just the 211s. It is any receiver that hasn't been tied to a satellite for a while. There was once a telephone number you could call and get a hit that way. Today, you must call and have a tech do it....

Disconnect the coax going to the sat dish.

Run check switch.

Reconnect coax from sat dish.

Run check switch.

Report back.

He has already gotten the 'hit' and all is well. I'm still standing by the 'de-authorized' receiver scenario that I outlined earlier. If you leave a receiver idle without a satellite signal for an extended period of time, it must get reauthorized to work.
