Pas 1R is tough to pick up its kind of low in the sky up here, I am doing a scan of Pas 1R right now to see whats available, but looking at the Lyngsat chart there is nothing being beamed towards the USA, if you give us your zip we can let you know exactly where you will have to point your dish.

Satmex 5 has a lot of KU channels, always check the beam of a channel to make sure you are within the footprint.

I get your..... Lat./N 38
Long./W 85

SM5= 225 deg Azim Elevation =35 deg.

Pas 1 R= 126 deg Azim Elevation= 30 deg.

Your Magnetic deviation= +5 deg so add that to the above Azim. When using a compass.

There is NOTHING scanning in on Pas 1R right now, but there is so much to see on the other KU birds you will still have a load of fun!

It's the favorite among many of us... the best and most main-stream English language stuff with many distant broadcast networks and music videos channels.

For the good news channels (and then there's Fox News) ;), look at Intelsat Americas 6 (IA6/used to be T6).
