Glad you finally got it in HD! I figured Dish must have overlooked it. Does anyone know if it is in Dish America? I think that would have made sense during negotiations, but then again....

I don't have it in Dish America. I think Disney missed the boat and is not getting all the money that they could have, if they would have insisted that Disney Channel, ABC Family and these ESPN channels were added to Dish America. The greedy mouse is probably kicking itself. It seems strange that the packages once billed as HD Only would not have the basic HD channels such as Disney Channel and ABC Family. I think, but am not sure, that they were there before the dustup between Dish and Disney.

Gainesville, FL locals now available on the EA. It never made sense to me why they put them on WA to begin with. It's so low in the sky. Our locals are the first channels to go out when it rains. I'm going to do a chat and see if I can get them to switch me over.

IIRC XHRIO is really owned by Entravision which has a crapload of other local channels in the US including the full power Univision affiliate in Brownsville/McAllen/Harlingen TX.

yeah they own the low powered Fox in Harlingen too (its also a subchannel on XHRIO). But I guess its more of Dish actually uplnking a Mexican station that isnt associated with a US Network like Fox, CW, My etc. While it is a full powered station I thought Mexican stations did not qualify for must carry?

edit: I do see they have the Telemundo in San Diego available to subs and that is a Mexican station

Update:
Entravision is going to let XHRIO-TDT 15's contract expire at the end of 2021. The station will go off the air for good, and its future is unknown at this time...

Maybe a U.S.-based station should take over that channel position and move that station's city of license over the border (and give it a "K" callsign), like CBS 4, which is now currently a subchannel of NBC affiliate KVEO-TV 23.

I like the sound of "KMCR-TV CBS 15 McAllen," don't you?
