4+ locations and going crazy

I emailed several people from Dish Network's website asking if a customized Dish Antenna could be created that looked at all 4 locations. After not getting a response from them I decided to call dish.
I was unable to get past the 3 csrs and decided to come ask you guys a couple of questions.
I was willing to pay for a dish antenna that would be a minimum of 3 feet and have it look at the 105, 110, 119, 121 locations.
So that I could hook up my 500 to look at the 148 or the 61.5.
However the last csr I talked to said that it was not possible to create a dish of that size to do what I wanted because the dp44 just came out and it's not possible to look at more than 4 locations at the same time.
He also said that the FCC had to approve of the 4 lnb dish and he "conserned" about the wait of the dish. Like I couldn't mount it in my yard.
I need to know if the following are possible and what some of you guys opinions are.

1)What is better? A SuperDish to look at the 105,110,119 or to use a SuperDish to look at the 105 and my Dish 500 to look at 110,119. WHY??

2)Is it possible to look at all 6 locations at the same time? 61.5,105,110,119,121,148

3)I am moving to kansas next month and my locals will be on the 105. I have to remove the dish 500 from my apartment when I move, so can I hook that dish up to the super? This combination together will look at 105,110,119 & either 61.5 or 148.

4)LAST STUPID QUESTION- With my super looking at 105,110,119 and my 500 looking at 148 is it possible to hook up the second lnb on my 500 to look at the 157 or hook up a second 500 to look at the 61.5?

Sorry
Danielle  :no

one receiver...separate 30" dish...more than one, SD...due to limitations of the switches
2)Is it possible to look at all 6 locations at the same time? 61.5,105,110,119,121,148
not that I'm aware of. I know some can do 5

yes..with a DPP44 switch.

157..no because its not in the guide as an option
61.5..yes...see the thread of "madman hooks up 5 dishes"

That would depend also on why you feel you need all the slots. As an installer, I hooked them up and then took them down since they didn't have, to quote charlie, "compelling content". It comes down to the old, just because it's there, and it's really just overkill. As for using a 500 for the 110/119 instead of the SD, I would see what kind of signal you can get from the SD first. It you are getting less than 100 on either the 110 or 119, then use the seperate 500 for better signal. The only dish I know of that can hit mutliple slots is a torridial(sp?) dish, but most of those are designed for DBS, not FSS. It uses a 2 reflector setup for multiple LNBs, but the 148 & 61.5 are way to far out to get even with that kind of dish. Too much spacing.

Would a Torodial Dish work in this case???? General Question for all.

for 105, 110, 119, 121...maybe

since there is normally 4 degree spacing, 119 & 121 would take one hell of a setup. I think SD had the 2 somehow crammed together.

Well if you have locals on 105, wanted some international only available on 121, had a Sky Angel subscription and wanted 61.5 you are up to 5 useful satellites. Quite doable with DishPro and DP receivers (legacy top out at 4max some at 3).

Now it could also be possible if you lived in a white area and qualified for CBS and wanted both E&W to want 148 also. Dish does not support the viewing of both 61.5 and 148 at the same time, but people have hooked it up and reported that it does work (but channels appear 2x in the guide). This would be the only concievable reason people would need 6 satellites. It would be a pretty rare person. But, given the state of dish switching I do not think it is possible to see 6 satellites at once. Now it should be possible in the future if Dish wanted to put in switching logic to perhaps do as many as 16 satellites, but right now the way it is designed the receivers do not look for more than 5 (DPP44/DP21 combo).

Now as far as one dish, it is currently not available. A torroidal multisat dish does 45 degrees of arc... 61.5/148 are too far apart. I have not seen another solution for the consumer. Now you might go by your cable company and see a huge elongated dish that could do it (TWC has one here that looks like it is probably 24' wide X 16' high), you could probably buy one of those or even build one yourself. You could then buy 2 superdishes and salvage the KU-FSS DP LNBs, plus pick up some DP KU-DBS LNBs and make it. Someone on this board could probably calculate the size and shape the dish would have to be to get 61.5/148 at the same time.

I personally have 2 superdishes on my roof, plus a dish for 119/110/61.5 for a total of 5 dishes for 5 satellites. The easiest solution in your case sounds like SD105 + a dish 300 (or you could use a 500 if you have one around) for 61.5 with a DishPlusPro44 switch.
