Problem Resolved
Since about midday 10/12, the freeze/jump problem has ceased. I guess once they confirmed the software bug, they were able to remove it. I don't think it was in the DVR, but on the uplink encoding (since my 501's and 510's resolved the problem at the same time, without a firmware reload.)
