522 Hard drive full message?

I started getting a strange error last night while watching tv. No programs were being recorded when an error message box flashed up and then disappeared around 10 times. Then the last time the message stayed on the screen and I was able to read it. It said that my hard drive was full and that I should delete some recorded shows. I checked the DVR screen and it said that I had 57 hours available for recording. I deleted one football game.
The same thing happened again 2 more times in the next hour.
Anyone have this happen? Is the hard drive going bad? The unit is over 4 years old.

Last Sunday & Monday I had it come up a couple of times while trying to record. I had 39 hours left. I haven't had any problems since, down to 25 hours and still testing.

Reboot the box. I seem to recall running into something like this years ago when I had a 522. Rebooting it fixed it.
