6000 vs. SIR-T165 for OTA: no turbo prop and more...

Hi guys. Santa was kind enough to leave me a new tv and STB. Thanks to him I got a chance to hook up my 6000 and a Samsung SIR-T165 for an A/B comparison on my local high-defs. Same antenna, split for both boxes. Cables swapped to be sure that they were not a factor. Lo and behold, incredible improvement with the SIR-T165. I'm talking about basic, plain old pull em in and show em without that digital pixel block and locking that caused me to replace the 8vsb some time back. I can always correct the 8vsb locking/blocking picture by a long cold reboot. That is until the next time later the same day or sooner. And the Samsung STB has no fan. I don't think I'm gonna miss that jet blast.
