Quick question...I just switched from D* about 2 months ago to E*...the installer put up a Dish 1000...My 129 signal is weak and gets rain fade very easily, also there are a few channels on 61.5 I don't get, that I want...Can I use my D* dish (it was the 3 LNB dish) to get 61.5? Or do I need to buy a Dish 500?

Thanks

unfortunatelly the LNB's are not compatible. The DIrecTV LNB is what DIsh people call "Legacy". The Dish1000 is either DishPro or DishProPlus depending on if there is an external switch or not.

You would need a Dish300 or 500 and a DishPro LNB

Shouldn't he be able to just pick up a dish 500 or 300 without an lnb and use the single lnb from the 1000 and the built in switch on the twin lnb? Would also need to pick up an I adapter for the 500 / 300. I believe you would have to do a switch test from the receiver to see 61.5 after this.
