I was just going by this picture on Engadget Dish's new ViP612 - like the ViP622, but now with less - Engadget HD... I'm getting a 612 on 9/1, glad to hear it's black...

Can't believe no one answered his question about if it's quite enough or not for the bedroom! Only to make the correction that it is black, which it is! I have 2 of them and it's no louder than the 622 or the 722, should be just fine!

it just gets a little noisy when rebooting, but returns to quiet after a minute or two...

Have a 612 in master bedroom. Set the reboot time to 7:30am instead of 3am. No issues. However, the blue HDTV light is pretty bright. Sort of works like a night light.

I moved my 622 out of the bedroom because the rebooting would wake me up. I suppose I could set the reboot time to the middle of the day instead of the middle of the night. During normal operation it is audiable, but just some mild white noise.
