622 - HDMA and optical sound output?

Does anyone know if the 622 will output sound on both the HDMI and the optical at the same time?

I have not personally tested this, but I can't imagine why the 622 would not output to both simultaneously, just like HDMI video and component video are simultaneous.

Yes - it does. In fact, all the outputs (video & audio) are active at all times. (I am always in Single Mode).
