622 & hdmi = no picture or sound

everything was working fine with my 622 outputting to component and hdmi. but now am not getting any video or sound through the hdmi cable. i checked the cable as i used with my dvd player and it works fine, but can not get it to work from 622 to t.v. , checked for loose cables, etc. everything is o.k. , anyone else having this problem, could it be either a hardware or software problem with the 622?

I've read many folks are having this problem and are using the Component connections as a workaround. Try unplugging and re-plugging the HDMI cable after everything is turned on, which typically forces a new handshake between the 622 and the display which in my case fixes the problem. However I find it's a PITA so I just use component for the time being - don't see any difference in PQ between the two.
