Tonite as my VIP622 was recording "24" OTA it would record 1 minute and stop then start over and record another 1 minute and on and on. Has anyone else had this problem?

Did you reboot it? Just unplug the power and let it reboot. If it still doing it, it might be time to call E*.
I did that twice. After "24" ended the problem stopped. I never had this kind of problem when I was with Directv. The 622 is fine most of the time but it has its problems. Makes me whish I has stayed with Directv,
