Ah, he just wants to keep his eastern arc locals for viewing from Los Angeles and he's upset that the eastern locals are all moving to spots.... ;)

What was the deal with that GOLFR channel ? Was Dish expecting to lose GOLF or something and they were going to use it to replace it like they replaced TWC with Weatherscan a couple years ago? I even seen a DISH commercial advertising the channel on one of my many DVR recordings.

6671(8) - WBBJ3 [MPEG4 SD] - Echostar16 61.5W TP 32 Spotbeam 09 changed to Available (H) (Mkt:Jackson, TN-Jackson, TN-ABC)

Gpollack will be happy as he gets his locals in HD now

Thanks bobby. Dish has spots on 61.5 for Los Angeles. Would be nice if they up linked LA locals on there since its empty anyways. Besides 61.5 was the dish for internationals in the west coast before 148 came into being of I may remember.

Face it, navigates, locals on CONUS are becoming a vague memory. They are all going to be on spots, that is the obvious strategy......

Like a polar bear on a shrinking iceberg, I will hang on until the very end.

Dish is not going to do this because the E-16 satellite and every satellite for that matter has power limitations and activating that spotbeam would reduce what Dish can do elsewhere. All of Dish's recent spotbeam satellites have more capability in terms of spotbeams than what the satellite can provide from a power capability. They design satellites this way to provide back up just in case another satellite fails.

If I'm still in the same place. I will still get my Locals. I am that Polar bear. Pittsburgh was on CONUS for a long time. I doubt they will move Lexington to a Spot as its right in between spots.

Finally if that happens. I'll get another western arc lnb with a switch and get San Diego

Care to elaborate. For me to get 129 would require me to put a long pole going way over my patio. Which not work well with the office.
If you are talking to me, my "team of sight" comment was that I want to watch my out-of-town hometown sports teams by "moving".

I have 110,119,and 129 though

folks in that area would need a EA upgrade then......or a wing dish for 61.5
oh and the NBC is from Bowling Green (even though the SD version is from Paducah)
