Here are those changes that I mentioned yesterday.

Seems like they only moved a few channels (and their mirrors) over to 119.
EDIT: Those must be really low bandwidth channels considering there's now 12 HD channels on 119 TP 7

Might be related to Directv 1R at 110W. There was an FCC filings a few weeks back that said Directv was working on a deal (probably a lease) for the satellite and associated transponders to "put them into productive use". They said the deal would be done within 60 days. If true, it would add capacity for Dish at 110W

Seems to me if that was the case, it would not be for Dish. E11, if memory serves, is perfectly capable of broadcasting on the 3 TPs DirecTV has. They would not need to lease Directv 1R. So they could be going elsewhere. Though at least they admit they are unproductive.

Or perhaps there is a combination deal that leases 1R elsewhere, while Dish gets the licence for the rest of 110. Or maybe they are ditching the sat, as it is getting rather long in the tooth at 13 years old (with a 15 year design life which may have been compromised), and they are not ready to launch another Ku sat.

If there is a deal between DirecTV and Dish my guess is that Dish would get use of the 3 TPs at 110W and would lease the 1R satellite for use elsewhere. Dish has a history of squeezing the life out satellites so they would not be reluctant to take on a 13 year satellite. It would probably be unpopular to most but Dish might want to move CONUS programming from 119 W to 110 W in order to use more of the spotbeam capacity of the E-14 satellite. Dish only uses 5 TPs for spotbeams on the E-14 satellite but it has the capability to use 10 TPs.

Alot of channel moving for Alaska`s 55xx HD service. Some have moved off spotbeams to ConUS beam in effect dropping signal levels to critical. Anyone know why these changes are taking place?
