722 tuner issues

My 722 tuner is set up for use on 1 tv. About a week ago when i switched to the 2nd tuner the screen was a scrambled like green screen. If a show was being recorded it would appear that way, but if after it was recorded it would play with no problem. If the tuner was shut off this would go away, but would come back in time. As the week has gone on it has happened faster and faster. After a reset both turners would work for 5 to 6 hours, now the second tuner might go on the fritz after 30 minutes. Does this mean that my receiver is dying a slow death, or is this something that can be easily fixed. Since this has started, the receiver has also freezed up to where I have had to unplug the receiver to get it to reboot. Is this something I can get fixed, or am I looking at needing a new receiver.
