Recently noted a couple of different weird behaviors on my 'K.' First was an undesired ten second rewind of an already-recorded program. Happened three different times, each time with a different show, on a different network. Show went on each time with no further problems. More troubling was the early termination of a recorded show, happened twice. About twenty minutes into the program (and the list of recordings showed it had the full 1:04, with buffers), the end of program menu just popped up, and the program was done.
Called DISH Sunday, seemed to win at CSR roulette. Woman with whom I spoke was conversant in the technology, and not reading from a script. She essentially validated my initial thought, the hard drive is giving early warning signs of a failure. So now I am awaiting the delivery of a replacement unit, which will further justify the DISH Protection Plan.
Had not seen any other mention of similar issue, on any model.
