At this point it is a foregone conclusion that Bonds will be the all time HR king,. It would seem that only a serious injury can stop him.

Any predictions on when and where?. I am going with Friday July 13 at home against the Dodgers.

Can't say I care about this either. Although no proof has been presented (drug test), the cloud of suspicion hangs heavy. Bond's record won't stand too long anyhow, I give A-Rod better than even odds of surpassing Mr Bond's rather dubious achievement.

I dislike Barry Bonds but pretty soon he will have the major league home run record. Josh Gibason won't. Hank Aaron won't and neither will Roger Maris though they were all great ballplayers in my opinion.

The fact that we don't like this reality does not stop it from happening. Good luck to A Rod---a few more months like April and he just might do it. But he is at 478 now. Impressive but 264 home runs behind bonds and 277 behind Aaron.


BTW it is a disgrace that men like josh Gibson did not get a chance to play in the major leagues but the claims of 800 to 1000 home runs count a lot of home runs hit in barnstorming games. In actual league games he had far fewer---but they did not play as many games. Given the ratio of HRs to at bats we can safely say he would have hita ton of them but we will never know how many.

It does make fell uneasy but we can't all declare our own statistical champions. it is sad that it has come to this where a cloud hangs over the man who almost certainly will have one of the most coveted records in the sport. then again a different cloud is over the head of the man with the most hits. maybe it is bad karma.

But obviously he didn't do enough, they still lost the world series. He is suppose to be a superstar, rise to occasion, he didn't rise enough.

Look at Dwayne Wade last year in the NBA championship game, they were down 2-0 and because of him, a superstar, came back and won the championship.

If they only played 1 game, I could agree with you, but they lost 4 games during that series, if he was a superstar, he would of won at least 1 of those 4.

He lost 3 straight championship series in Pittsburgh, he can't win the big game, he's great during the regular season, but sucks during post season.
