I have had a 811 receiver for over a year. For OTA, it used to show the programming information for what show was on each channel. Now it just shows "Local Digital" on every digital channel. This apparently came as a software "upgrade" (really a downgrade!).

Do the newer 211 and 622 receivers have the same problem, they won't show the programming information when viewing the OTA channels?

Thanks,

Jeff

It's not a problem, it's a feature. Dish decided to make the 811 work like all the other Dish HD receivers. You'll need to sub to Dish locals for the OTA EPG now.

The change occured on the 622 (for me anyway) when the L3.63 software fiasco occured last year. Prior to that, I had OTA program guide data. Since then, de nada.

I just called Dish to ask about this and upgrading receivers. Dish confirmed what others have said here, that the feature of showing the programming information for OTA was taken away, and this feature is not shown for the 211 and 622 receivers. (unless you want to pay the extra local fee, and then it will be shown apparently!)

It costs a bunch to upgrade to 622. $149 less $50 credit to "lease" it. $6 lease fee a month. $6 DVR fee a month. $10 additional HD programming fee. Would save $5 on second receiver fee, so monthly bill would increase by $17.
