811 question

Is it true that every single 811 has bugs? I know there have been problems with some but all? I have one on order so Im getting 2nd thoughts. Thanks Bob

Hi Bob, Welcome to SatelitteGuys,

YMMV...Although rare, some users swear they have no issues at all. You must remember that most having issues ARE power users and use alot features. Yes the 811 has some demons, but I think most receivers have their personality quirks. The one thing I consider a plus is the fact that E* has been good about putting out regular updates and the 811 is much much improved from what it was when it was first released. I can think of a couple other receivers that are much worse off. If your a patient person you'll be fine...If your not...get some holy water and get ready to exorcise the receiver...

Yes, but I think some of the newer 811's have less issues. Mine is almost a year old now and I still have problems. Not bad problems but frustrating ones, ie, sound drop out and black screens (has lessened since P281) but now the guide screws up. I generally have to do a power re-boot once a week.
