811 Update if Receiver Deactivated?

I have an 811 that I recently deactivated from my account. I still have the satellite and OTA antenna hooked up, I'm using it now only for OTA HDTV.

Will a deactivated receiver get software updates like P285?

Yes, it will update. When I bought a replacement 811, it updated itself when connected to the sats, even before I activated it on my account.

That's what I sort of figured, but as of today (3/22) I still don't have P285... I guess this truly is a slow deployment.

Turn off the 811 for the receiver overnite and it should update itself.

The rollout is very slow. It may be several weeks before everyone gets it.

Yep, I know that much...been off every day since I don't use it too much..but still no P285. Probably just a slow roll out.
