Tomorrow they will be installing Dish at my house with a 811 receiver and a 522, with Direct TV I had a Samsung HD receiver that really never gave me any problems, and it had a lot of good features. I also have voom right now with the Motorola Receiver and it just plain sucks. How does the 811 compare is it a good receiver?

That's the 811's own section in the Dish forum. You might have wanted to look there first before ordering an 811. Hope you're one of the one's that have few problems.
