865 code all of a sudden

my hopper 3 no.longer sees my EHD...the EHD does NOT show up in guide...when I manage recordings..I get an 865 code..requesting a reformation EHD.
Also, getting a pop-up 395 code...my OTA USB plugged in.

note, I checked my EHD...my laptop can see it...

is the hopper 3 USB ports or software bad.

If you haven't done this yet, try this: Put your Hopper in standby. Remove the EHD from the USB port. Unplug the Hopper from its power source for a minute or two. Plug the power back in to the Hopper and let it fully boot up. After the reboot is complete plug the EHD back in. Does that fix your issue?
