942 unwanted channel change

SETUP: 942 DVR, Samsung DLP HDTV

Lets say I'm watching Channel X when a previously requested Dish Pass Timer for channel Y begins recording. Is the displayed program on the TV supposed to switch to channel Y or remain on Channel X? What is happening is that the displayed channel switches to Channel Y and I have to manually switch back to Channel X to continue watching the original program. Any way to set up so that the background recording doesn't affect the program being watched?

Set your preferances on the menu , number 6 record plus - to tv2 tuner, and it will record all the shows to that tuner instead of tv1. This will work unless you have two sat timers that need to record at the same time and then it will use both of your sat tuners , but you could still watch your ota stations.
