The question is will they activate them if I am not a current HD subscriber? Not only that but, wouldn't I need to have activated this before Feb 1st 2006, so that I could get the older HD pak?

I called my local Radio Shack and they told me that it was free if I sign up and that they still had some that they could get. I told them that I was already a subscriber and wanted to buy one outright. They said they could not get them that way.
