a couple of quick Shaw Direct questions

I just re-activated my Shaw Direct (old star choice) account after 4 years away (I live in FL) and I have 2 quick questions that someone might be able to answer for me.

I have a 75cm dish w/ 2 LNB DSR505HD

1. Just checking on sat strength to expect in central Florida

example right now on ch. 252 I am getting 76 on sat. A4, lower on other channel. What ch. is the best to tune on.

2. Should I connect the phone line? will it get me in trouble. I was told not to connect it years ago. I do have PPV credits I would like to use.

anybody's thoughts would be appreciated.

bmacfla I think you have to use ch. 252 if the rcvr isn't activated yet so just get the highest reading you can on that channel.

As for PPV you dont need to hook up a phone line you can call in to use your PPV, you don't have to talk to a person. Its $1 but we figure that's a small price to pay to not tell them we're in the US!

I use Channel 299 to tune the Dish with the older style LNBs (Non- Xku Type.) and then use Channel 700 when I'm ready to fine tune it.

that agrees with what I found online in regards to my receiver, fine tune on 700.
