If you use a slingbox and have a smartphone, you can put sling mobile on it and watch TV. OK, no news flash there. However, I discovered that it also works very well if you need to tweak your dish for signal strengths. You can just put it on the point dish screen and see what your changes do to the signal strength live while you're at the dish. A big time saver, and works better than using my sons with two way radios.:p
 
Why stop at setting it? Why not watch it too?:eek:

Works good for pointing OTA antennas too.
 
I've used this method to tweak my FTA dish.

Doing this, you have to take in account that the phone is buffering the stream. So what you see/hear can be delayed 5-20 seconds.
