A Note about this forum and the Phone forum

Just a friendly reminder that we have two technology-related forums, the Computers and Electronic Gadget Zone, and the Phone Zone. Given that iOS and Android products (tablets and phones) exist in both worlds, as "computers and electronic gadgets" and "phones" we will often have over-lap. That's ok, we know that the occasional iPad thread will end up in the Phone zone, and an android tablet thread might end up in Computers. When creating a topic, please pick which forum you think is most appropriate - and check out the other forum as well, as you will probably find common interests in both.

Try not to duplicate exact threads in both, but if you have a topic that you think you will get more responses from if people in the other forum see it, reply to this stickied thread, with a link to the thread in the other forum, and it will hopefully serve as a reminder for folks.

Thank you for making this sticky, Rocky. I too often get confused over which forum to post certain topics related to smart phones or tablets. Hopefully this will be a good thread to clear up any confusion and give us clarity.

BTW, with the growing tablet market it may be a good idea create a separate tablet forum. Call it the "Tablet Tibits", or something like that.

Thanks, but we will stick with tablets in the Computers and Gadgets. People already get confused, adding a third one only makes it more confusing.

There any thoughts about just combining them, they're two of the smallest active forums under Hometown Discussions? At 4th and 5th, combined they'd just pass the Operations Center in threads and be 3rd behind Chit Chat and Sports (which has a sticky suggesting it could be going away)

I just said (above) that there are no plans to combine these forums. They serve separate purposes. Yes, occasional overlap, but they function fine as is.

Good! I might be getting old But I still know the difference between a telephone and a tablet. I can appreciate the confusion of the younger generation, however. As for OS's, when discussing topics pertaining to both phones and tablets, I cast my vote for the computer and gadget section, but all things considered it isn't much of a concern to me because I'm following both.
