Has anyone renewed their distant networks package from AAD recently? When I renewed my annual subscription last year they offered 13 months for the annual price. I will call and ask of course, but any heads-up from the forum would still be useful.

I wouldn't recommend it. They sold 13 months of HD for the price of twelve, then cut HD service midway through and said no refund but could apply the leftover money to SD. Basically, they do not feel obligated to honor the 13-month contract. If they stop service, you will be unlikely to recover your money.
I think I read earlier this year (during the HD fiasco) AAD's contract with Dish expires in October. True, there are no refunds but if you're lucky you may get in store credit.
