Did anyone else get this email? What bird are they moving my locals too?

Dear Valued Customer:

We would like to inform you that the local channels in your region (including ABC, CBS, NBC and FOX) will be moving to another satellite location. To ensure that you continue to receive your local channels, DISH Network will provide you with a FREE antenna upgrade and Standard Professional Installation.* Without this upgrade, you will be unable to watch your local channels as you do today.

It is important to upgrade as soon as possible to prevent service interruption. Please call DISH Network today at 1-888-255-4791.

PLUS, if you call to upgrade today you may be eligible for 6 months FREE of DishHD™ programming - ask your DISH Network representative for details.

Thank you for your support during this conversion. We appreciate your business and look forward to providing you with top-quality television and technology for many years to come.

Again, please call 1-888-255-4791 today to avoid an interruption in service.

Sincerely,

DISH Network

I hadn't realized there were still locals on 121. They got them off of 105 last year as far as I know, although they moved them to 110 or 119 instead of 61.5 so the Superdishes stayed up.

I got the same letter. I think I am all set. I have a super dish and an 2nd for 61.5.

My locals are from Providence and they are on 121 and 61.5.

I am going to call anyway and see if they would be willing to remove the super dish. That thing is just so big.

There are still locals on 105. Charleston/Huntington WV is one market that is still up on that satellite. I think there is a market in Ohio on that satellite as well. There is only a few markets on 105. I didn't know that there were still markets on 121.

I called today the csr seemed very confused on why I was calling. I told him that I received the email and I think I am all set because I already have a 2nd dish pointed at 61.5 and my locals (Providence) are on this satellite.

The csr said "I think you are all set". So I guess I will not lose my locals.

Columbus Ohio would be that market.

Swapping all those Super Dishes to 1000.2's has been a pain.

I get my locals out of teledo ohio with a 121 super dish and when they moved my locals to 110 i just unhooked the 121 and put up a dish500 for 129 and used the cable from the 121 location and kept the superdish up for 110 & 119 and dont have much trouble at all since i have a biger dish to trap the signal.

Well, now there's a 'new' urgent Dish email / phone call about the need to upgrade my SD receivers (2 721s) so I can continue to receive my locals (Providence). They want to send me 2 522s as replacements because they have 8PSK tuners, and the 721s do not. (Can anyone confirm that?)
Questions I asked:
1) What is the deadline to change out the receivers?
(They couldn't find a date, only had a date when the swap program started.)
2)What receivers wold I get?
522
3) Would I own the replacement receivers? (I own the 2 721s)
Yes
4) Would I have to send Dish the 721s?
No, but I could, and get a $10 credit for each.
5) Could I get a single 722 instead of 2 522s?
The computer isn't showing any way to do that.

I told the account specialist I'd call back when I'm ready.

Looks like an email to ceo...

Something's not right here.... Sounds like they want to get you off of the "no-fee-DVR" you've got to me !
