I want to sell three old Directv Hughes HIRD-E1 on craigslist, but I want to make sure that they can be activated before I sell it to someone. They do not have an RID Number. They have a number that looks like a serial number.

HIRD E1 (Serial Number: E12946E96396)
HIRD E1 (Serial Number: E12945EA2AOE)
HIRD E2 (Serial Number: E22A475643E)

I found a link on directv that says older models can not be reactivated. Is this true? I called Directv and he just kept asking for the IRD number and was stumped when I told him it did not have one. I gave him the serial, but it meant nothing to him.

Hughes net receivers are extremely old, and pretty much worthless. And yes they won't have RIDs, only access card numbers making them impossible to activate in our current system.

If the receivers have been on your account and are still registered on your account we can reactivate them, but that's it
