I noticed lately,

When in any particular forum - it's NOT showing all the Active Users on line (Both, Guests and Registered) as it did in the past....

It's taken off purposely .. or one can activate this feature somehow.. (from some personal preferense, etc)?

If purposely.. what was the reason? .. - to speed up the forum or something?
I kinda like when everyone on line is showing.. expecially during the busy times.. - Looks good if you ask me :)

It was done on purpose, for speed reasons.

With that feature enabled, we take a significant speed hit, especially when we get 2000+ here at busy times.

Sorry.

seed = speed i guess.. :D

Thanks for your reply.. and ya.. - that is what i figured as well .. - to speed up the forum somewhat!

It wasn't that slow though...
Besides.. it's running much faster nowadays anyhow.. or so i think at the least ;)

Yup with it showing the server had to figure out where all 2,000+ users were everytime someone reloaded a page.

It was very server intensive.

By turning off this feature it brought down our amount of database queries by over 70%.

Hmm.. Thanks Scott...

I guess dbstalk's traffic is much slower then or what?

Cuz when i reload page there.. it's coming pretty fast (for me anyhow)

with ALL Active users (Guests and registered ones) showing at the bottom anyhow .. hmmm...

I don't know anyhow.. just stating out loud...
