Hi all, from my other posts you know I'm assembling a dish and upgrading the hardware.

The actuator is an old rusty Uniden...I'd guess 18" but don't know for sure. The dish is a Winegard 10' mesh dish.

I've been told that to go beyond south (into SE and E), I may need a special dish that can go further....but what If I just got one of these 24" or 36" actuators? Will that do the job, or is there more to the story?

As always, thanks for your input.

An 18" is ok, but I would get a new 24" this should do you fine, Venture's are good arms.

I have a 24" and can hit from AMC-8 to AMC-12 and more but my house is in the way :( with a 18" you can go far but it may lose count and or dmage the arm when extended so much. Most older dishes had a 18"

Depending from where your area, most the time 24" will do, but 36" is for sure you will get every sats from the continental U.S..
