Adding a VIP211K

I currently have 2 722K DVR's.

I also have a VIP211K with EHD which I own and had activated several years ago but no longer use.

I was wondering if I added the 211K with the EHD and dropped one of the 722K's would I save any money?

I use the 722K OTA module and wonder if the 211K OTA tuner is the same as the 722K OTA tuner?

Is Program Guide the same for the 211K and the 722K?

VIP 211k is $7 /month add a EHD costs a one time $40 fee, unless it's already been added to your account previously.

The guides are similar, but my 722k guide will only display the HD version of channels, where as the 211k guide will display both SD & HD channels.
So you will see eg: 300 HBO SD & 300 HBO HD, where as the 722k guide will only display 300 HBO HD.

You would save $10 per month (assuming you removed the 211 from your account) $17 if you left it activated, but would lose one sat tuner and one ota tuner.

My 722k guide displays both HD and SD channels. This is controlled by the way you have your guide set to display the channels.

Your setting are different on your two receivers, check under Guide Format. One receiver is set to HD only and the other is HD & SD.

The 211k has an internal OTA tuner. There is no add-on OTA module for the 211k.

This isn't a big problem. All you need to do is set up a favorites list that contains only the HD version of a channel where HD is available.

My 211k is set to HD only and it still shows both SD & HD. I realize my mistake in 722k fees. I know about adding favorites.

211k is a pretty good receiver as is the 722k.
