I have an HR24, H24 and a D12 in my home. I got a HR21 from a buddy of mine. I want to activate it in place of the D12.

I was told that the HR24 and the HR21 will "Share" their DRV Space and display it as one DVR.

My end goal is to have the HR24 and HR21 (in place of the D12) working so that all receivers (including the H24) can use the same MRV.

My question is do I need a DECA for the HR 21. If so, is there a certain model number? Or something that I should look for when buying?

Then, How do I install the HR21 (after I call and activate it of course).

Thanks guys!

Your friend's HR21 must be owned instead of leased in order for you to be able to activate it (nearly all are leased).

If you are able to activate it, ask the Directv CSR about obtaining a DECA for the HR21. You might be able to get it for less (or even free).
