I am currently testing the Sky Angel iptv. Overall it works pretty well for streaming over the internet. My problem is that I now have a HDTV and it looks alright but not great. It looks really good on our little standard tv. The other issue is the difficulty in getting the signal to a second television upstairs. Dish has receivers with 2 tuners built in with 2 remotes and they will install it. That makes the DishFamily package appealing at only $20/month. Of course there would be channels that we would miss. And it is still standard definition and not hd. No matter what I do there are compromises.

Anyways, I noticed on the Sky Angel website that it says that there are still more channels to come. Does anyone have any idea what these channels might be? If I liked the channels it might persuade me to keep sky angel.

I can't comment on Sky Angel IPTV since I don't subscribe to it but if you want to subscribe to a paid satellite service you might want to consider Direct TV over Dish. Direct has a family package that will give you more Christian channels than Dish does. Also, you can get 5 channels in HD if you are willing to pay an additional $9.99 a month. Or you could go with the Glorystar package. This package offers many Christian channels at no monthly cost. All you have to pay for is the cost of the equipment (about $200) and installation. Or you can install it yourself for free. Glorystar doesn't offer channels in HD but you don't pay a dime for any of the SD channels. If you are interested in Glorystar, they have a thread elsewhere on this board.

For $19.99 dish family isn't a bad deal. You get quite a few good christian channels as well. Including
daystar
ktv
3abn
angel 1
angel 2
tbn
ewtn

then you have nick east and west, boomerang and tv land, all family friendly channels

sign up for 2 years and get free equip, free install etc

The $9.99 Dish Essentials pack has all of the above channels except Daystar.
It includes 3-4 channels that aren't exactly "family friendly," but also has three news channels, the Weather Channel, the Food Channel, HGTV, Boomerang, Discovery Kids, History, TLC, and a few others. Do a search on this site for more info, and for the account specialist phone # that you must call to sign up.
