aligning 77W with 508 or 311

Can I test a temporary dish aimed at 77W with a an old 508 unit just to get a signal strength before climbing on the roof or do I need to use a 311 to be on the safe side just to see if my line of sight is good. any help is appreciated. Thanks, cwk

I don't think the software in 508 and 311 recognize 77 in the signal strength screen.

Thanks, I was afraid of that. Trying to test another location without climbing on the roof and disconecting the wing dish wire. Just hoping to find another line of sight to get my local hd's. I'm on 1000.2 and 1000.4 is not an option due to the one 311 unit so I guess I've answered my own question after the fact. Thanks again.
