Picked up the lead on this one from dbstalk.com Strange to not find a mention of it here.

This begs the slew of questions about the structure of this partnership. What are the equipment options to be offered? Pricing? Will this mirror what SCB is doing? Will the neato freato bandito ;) 2wire Mediaportal be involved?

??????????????????????????

Alltel owns dish? I didn't know that. I figured Echostar woulda been the guys that owned and provided the DISH service.

Now you're not being serious with this are you?

Perhaps if I put this in a more correctly worded sentence...

Alltel enters an agreement with Dish Network (Echostar) to begin offering Dish Network services later this year.

SBC has a similar agreement with Dish Network.

Most of this is in the articles posted.

Hmmm, wonder what happens to those of us that are serviced by Alltel cable? Alltel owns everything here, and no other company has penetrated our market. That means $$$ out the roof for DSL and phone...but their cable price is actually competitive with satellite. Just no HD, and the analog looks BAAAAADDD!

Maybe I can get a discount somewhere out of this...
