American Airlines forgot to pay it’s Dish Network Bill.

Flew on two 737’s from Tucson to Atlanta today, each one live TV was not available. Viasat is saying they are no longer offering. This is terrible service, not to mention it wasn’t the best to begin with as video often froze on these flights, but something is better than nothing. Just wish they would add MSNBC to that lineup over CNN.

95% of the people flying want to watch what THEY are into at the time, so they load it on thier own Tablets and iPads.

With the current low passenger counts, it shouldn't be surprising that the airlines are cutting expenses wherever they can.

Seems like a perfectly reasonable reason to halt that service. Business is down, gotta save money somewhere.

This thread is a fine definition of "First World Problem".

As bad as the airline industry has been hit in this environment, I'd be glad to still have an airline, a 737, and a flight available.

Maybe not all, but a lot are. They have more important issues to deal with, like trying to retain jobs for example.

Survey data and inflight behavior both suggest strong demand for live television on board. But a couple airlines are cutting the service, at least temporarily. And it is not just about saving money on the subscription costs.
