American car companies take note

I drove alot and have only had three vehicles in my adult life: Jeep CJ- for nice years (gave it away when I went overseas for a couple years); Ford F-150 that I had for 9 1/2 years (gave it away when I went overseas once again); and Ford F-150 I have been driving for the past 9-years and 4-months. As much as I love my vehicles I get sick of them after about 8-years. I have been fortunate in that I haven't had a single major repair major repairs (take reasonable good care of them), but there is no way in heck I take care of my vehicles like this guy. I view a care or truck as transportation that is disposable after 10-years. I really want a new vehicle (perhaps a Fusion Hybrid), but I get the feeling I will be driving my wife's hand-me-down inferior/overpriced japanese vehicle. Maybe I'll just install Sync/MyFord in my F-150.

I keep my cars 15 years. Everyone should . But many don't . They buy new and 3 years later buy new again. Crazy. I don't get over 2 million miles on my autos but I get pretty close.

I like to keep mine for 10. I've had pretty good luck, both new and used. And I must say, today's cars take FAR less maintenance than those from 30 years ago.
