That he and others like Warren Buffett are going to give away must of their fortune is an awesome gesture. I would like to see them use some of their vast wealth on some projects in the US.

wouldn't it be great to have Gates build an endowed scholarship with a billion dollars for STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) which are the foundations of the tech industry.

As would I. Unfortunately, many of the previous projects have involved somehow promoting world dominance for one of the patron's pet companies.

Sterilization is uniquely a tool to control population growth. Eugenics is a theory to "improve" the genetics of children that are born. There doesn't seem to be much overlap there.
