Android TV on Hopper 3 Without Plus Upgrade?

A couple of years ago I upgraded to Hopper Plus and quickly discovered that it needed an RF remote for several functions. That was deal-breaker for our living room system since it has multiple devices controlled by a marriage-saving Harmony One IR-only remote, so I disconnected the Plus box, rebooted Hopper 3, and hoped for the best since I was led to believe original Hopper 3 software would need to be reinstalled. Well, everything worked as before.

A few months ago, I noticed it has an Android TV home page. It may have been there ever since removing the Plus upgrade, but I never looked until upgrading my 4K Joey to Joey 4 on my home theater system and became familiar with Android TV.

Question: does the Hopper 3 now have Android TV, or is mine a leftover remnant of the Hopper Plus s/w upgrade?

No, they're just using that menu for consistency and TBH, I hate it. It's much slower than the original menu. You can remove it by going to settings, appearance, and changing the home screen back to classic.

Thanks for setting me straight. I changed it back to classic, and I agree with you... much better.
