What can you say about "Ant Man"? I finally saw the latest entry in the Marvel movie universe and was entertained, but it felt a bit hollow
The movie didn't take itself seriously. This is nothing new for the Marvel universe. The difference, previous movies like Thor, Captain America, and especially Guardians of the Galaxy poked fun at themselves, but the movie had a more serious feel. Pardon the reference only old farts will get, but this movie was akin to Roger Moore's 007 compared to Sean Connery's. Both made wisecracks, but only one became a caricature and clown... literally (Google "Octopussy Moore Clown" and see what pictures you get).
It made the plot seen less serious. It game the entire movie a more comic feel rather than the action-packed thrill ride it was.
I liked Ant Man and recommend it to Marvel fans. It was funny. It had a reasonable comic book story. It's worth the rental. It's just not on par with the others.
Stan Lee makes an appearance as usual for about 3 seconds. Blink and you'll miss it.
And there are not one, but two Easter eggs at the end during the credits so watch all the way to the end of the credits.
