Anyone use an IR extender with a Visionsat?

I am trying to use a X-10 Powermid IR receiver / transmitter to operate a Visionsat FTA receiver.

It's really sluggish and awkward. Sometimes the key presses register more than once or not at all. Also, after pressing a remote key, it takes about 3-5 seconds to see the resulting action.

Could the X-10 unit be too close to the Visionsat?

I've not used them with a Visionsat, but I have noticed that placement of the IR receiver does make a difference. Try setting it 12-18" away if possible.

I use something else (an old 900Mhz device, don't recall brand), works most of the time with my visionsat. Once in while, the sensor by the visionsat moves and then acts funny when trying to press remote buttons.
