Anyway to recover a deleted recording on 942?

Wife accidentally deleted a recording on the 942 before it was burned to DVD...anyway to undelete this recording? There are 3 hours of free HD recording space left on the 942 and no further recording have been made.

Sorry I don't know the answer to your question but do find it interesting that the capability exists to extract a file for burning to a DVD. I get my 942 Monday. Could you explain the procedure? I have a DVD burner and software on my PC.

Just use the RCA jacks out of the 942, run it to a capture card on your PC. Play the recorded program on the 942 and capture & record it onto your PC. After the program is ripped to PC, burn it to DVD.

That's pretty much what I figured...need a Norton undelete utility.

Norton will not help, but Linux does !
