AppleTV to replace Spectrum Cable Box

I am unclear how the live TV part of this works. Also, will there be a cloud DVR?

Apple Hopes to (Finally) Kill Off the Cable Box

That's just a clone of the Roku Charter Spectrum streaming app for their streaming service. There's NO cloud dvr, and knowing Spectrum, it's very unlikely that they will ever provide one. Besides, their streaming service is NOT a good deal, and they have a hidden extra cost that they'll never tell you about, and you won't know until you look at the bill for local channels you can receive for free with an antenna.

So, you'll be paying nearly $30 a month for 20 channels plus the .1 main locals in your area.

Depends on what you are looking for. Price is equivalent to Sling blue with all locals and your top ten channels. Plus 5 premiums for $15. Tech told me a Cloud dvr is a big priority

Thatis no surprise the other day I googled Spectrum Cloud DVR and in the selections I clicked on was a job application for a computer engineer to help design Spectrum's Cloud DVR.

Spectrum went all digital in our area a couple of weeks ago. No more analog cable or clear QAM channels available. You either have to get a Spectrum digital cable box or use the Spectrum app on Roku, Amazon Fire Stick or an app included on newer Samsung smart TV's. The app works reasonably well on the Samsung TV and Roku. However, as others have mentioned there is no DVR capability, only Live TV for channels you are subscribed to and on-demand viewing of movies and other network content. I still have to lease a horrible DVR from them. (My Dish Hopper at our cottage is a dream compared to the legacy Time Warner equipment). Adding the Spectrum APP to Apple TV is helpful so I dont have to lease additional boxes for the TV in the kids room. (Assuming that the app is made available on older Apple TV's which I already have.)

That was their Cloud storage product, similar to DropBox. Never took off.

Thanks for the explaination I thought that was maybe their Cloud DVR.
I'm using my Roku Stick+ with the Spectrum app and if they let me subscribe to my package through the Roku then I would keep them,if not then it's time for a change in a couple of months when my discounts end.
The Spectrum app works well with better guides, better program descriptions and a better On Demand compared to their old outdated DVRs,all of the stuff I record is in their On Demand so I don't need DVRs.
