I must of hit my head on my BUD because I am having a brain fart over this!

Can all coax splitters be used as combiners or do they have to be labeled as such???

I am hooking up 2 channel modulators and need to combine the coax output from each unit into

my main OTA coax run to go to the rest of the house. I now have 2 combiners feeding both

units into the main coax but I want to neaten it up if possible. Can a 3 way "splitter" be used as a

"combiner" for the 2 sources into the OTA coax???

Just mixing your two modulators * with all the OTA signals may work, but is not a very clean solution.
A number of members have posted their home wiring designs, and I've remarked on what an ex-KTLA (Los Angeles ch 5 engineer) buddy hooked up at his house.
There's also a chance your modulator signals will be radiated into your neighborhood through your OTA antenna.

More research and a review of the channels used, might be worth the effort.

* modulators? :attention: really?

Yep!

I have 2 four channel Channel Plus modulators and they

put out a lot better picture than most pizza systems I

have seen.

The one is located in the living room and feeds the DVD

recorder with "cable", DVD

megachanger, and Bluray player with Netflix.

The other is in the man cave and has my DSR922,

DSR920 and OpenBox receivers.

I am using channels 41, 43, 45, 47, 49, 51, 53, and 55.

The extra 2 channels will be used soon!

Should I take a TV outside and see if I am

"broadcasting"???

you should use filters to avoid not only broadcasting but also interfering with your local OTA channels in your own home distribution. best approach , create a band gap big enough to put all the needed channels , in your case a band pass filter that pass from ch 41 to 55 at least. most modulators have spurious frecuencies probably. obviously there is no OTA station from ch 41 to 55 in your city, right?.
