AT&T Aquires some DISH Spectrum

Their marketing SUCKS.

Get rid of the boost name.

Say its a new company called Access and show why their 5G only service is better than everyone elses. I have heard Charlie say that his network is better then the others since it was built ground up for 5G. If thats the case, why does the service suck so bad? In doing speed tests on Tmobile, Verizon, Boost and AT&T and Boost and Verizon were the slowest of them all. (Verizon used to have a great network what happened?)

Boost should be the best.

Their marketing should be we are the Newest, we use the latest technology, we offer the best equipment and our speeds are unmatched.

I loved the commercial Charlie made, but it gave me no real reasons why I should switch from my current carrier to Boost. Why should I switch from TMobile to a slower network?

I wanted to get a tablet from boost a few months ago... and they wouldn't allow me to get one unless I also had a voice line. Sorry I don't want a voice line. Its hard to want to be a customer of a company that puts up roadblocks to keep you from becoming a customer.
I think you can do that now

For everyone else, I was installing a door counter at a Boost store today. They are very happy about this move.
The naysayers crying wolf need to stop and just wait to see what happens

There is a really big piece of this deal that nobody has mentioned. It really changes my thoughts on FCC approval..Might be easier than I thought

Echo Star deal

The announcement that AT\&T will acquire 50MHz of spectrum from EchoStar for \$23 billion represents the definitive end of the long-running attempt to maintain four nationwide wireless carriers in the United States.

Ahhmm,...... I kind of said that a few posts back Juan. ;)

I figured, what the hell, I'll try the dying network.

IMEI checker says my phone is compatible. After signing up for an account and attempting to active it says it's not eSIM compatible. The Pixel 10 series (sans the Fold) is eSIM only in the US.

I guess I shouldn't have expected anything different.

We activate eSIM on phones every day.
Every single day.

BTW, setup my P10P XL yesterday... loving this phone. Nice upgrade from the P9P XL

Went back to the Boost Store in Hamburg, since I created the account online the kid said he couldn't help me unless I paid a $15 in store convenience fee otherwise Id have to call customer service.

Called customer care from the parking lot, first guy verified my IMEI number and said it was compatible, but got the same thing I got when I tried to activate the eSIM. He transferred me to Advanced Tech Support, that guy couldn't help because I didn't have a phone number yet, he transferred me to an Activation Specialist who put me on hold three times only to tell me the 'Google 10 Pro Pixel XL' can't be activated with an eSIM on the Boost network and I could have a physical SIM mailed to me. She could not comprehend that the phone does not have a physical SIM slot.

Hung up and tied again, pretty much the same sequence of events the second go around but the guy I got as an Activation Specialist didn't try to push the pSIM that I can't use.

I suppose if I really wanted to I could put FirstNet on the eSIM of the Pixel 9 / 10 Fold and use a Boost pSIM, but I'm not going to bother, I already wasted enough of my afternoon with this zombie company.

Up to the Pixel 10's, Pixels weren't compatible with Boost. They said the 10's are, but maybe not or not yet

Boost is offering the Pixel 10 series, so there are no compatibility issues with them or the eSIM.

There are no compatibility issues with past Pixel phones on Boost, as long as they are unlocked and support the correct bands using a physical SIM. It's the eSIM that was the problem. You can stick a pSIM in a Pixel 9 and older and it will work if it's unlocked. Officially they support Pixel 5 and newer.

Looks like I'm not the only one.

I am more then willing to give them $50/month for a service I will not be using much. No wonder why they are in the toilet.

Like I said, they are in the toilet. The cable MVNOs have about the same number of subscribers, how sad is that?

I guess to put a positive spin on it, when the Dish native network is 100% gone, Boost can say they are one of the, if not the largest MVNOs in the country.

Actually, Comcast has 8.52 Million, Charter/Spectrum 10.9 Million, so definitely the largest of the TV Providers.
