ATSC OTA tuners in your cell phone?

LG is working on mobile television, and while you can't buy them yet, they are demoing ATSC tuners built into small devices live cell phones.

Check out this picture that was receiving live tv from Vegas - Family Fued on the OTA CW station.

I also liked the idea of an OTA ATSC tuner in the portable 7" DVD player.

Interesting. They middle picture looks a lot like the LG Vu my son has now, which picks up ATT Mobile TV. ATT Mobile TV uses UHF frequencies... it's an actual OTA TV transmission, separate from their voice and data network.

It's actually just AT&T's branding of Qualcomm owed MediaFLO. http://www.mediaflousa.com/content/index.shtml

Of course, you could just hook a slingbox to an OTA tuner and get the same thing without the added hardware.
 
the 7" dvd player is good.. we'll need that in SF when the next hurricane comes through this year and we without power and without a means of getting analog signal OTA.. :)
